So, does anybody have a drafting of the sizes that need to be cut out. Anybody have a pdf'd /drawn pattern for the front door speaker adapter they could post/email? 07 frontier le, 4x4, crew cab, short bed, avalanche white. I suggest buying 6x9 to 6.5 and 1 inch tweeter, they are plastic pieces that cover the 6x9 hole and then give you a 6.5 hole and a 1 tweeter hole, but you can leave that empty. I am a machinist so i would like to waterjet out the part to make it easier.
Then use either a router or jigsaw to cut the 6.5 hole. (stereo write ups in my sig) Use your factory speaker as the template. It may only be a matter of enlarging the holes in the new 6x9 with a bigger drill bit so that you can get the mounting screw in place. No one is currently typing a reply.

The jbl speakers are 3 ohm impedance. Here is the thing though. In short, you will more than likely hurt the performance of the 6x9's by placing them in (presumably) small sealed enclosures. Mount the 6.5 on the template;
Most car audio speakers (mids) are designed to be placed in car doors or rear parcel shelves. The way i've done this in the past is: I used the 6x9 grills as a template to make the oval mounts for them. If you really want an 8 then order a speaker pod and try your best to make it look nice.
