Cricut Advent Calendar

I just learned that on the cricut the max area for print to cut is 6.5 by 8.5. ( i had been cutting a lot that day.) should i turn it off and let it sit a while before embossing detailled designs? I have a file i created a couple years ago in sure cuts a lot that i used.

Thanks for any help jega. Is it possible that my cricut got too hot. Anyone know why my cricut would be freezing up all of a sudden? So it seems to be working now, but too many. I'm looking for some feedback and help.
