Hi, i've got a winchester model 67 in.22 and i'd like to put a scope on it. From everything i read, i may have to have a custom mount fabricated. Is there an easy way (i.e. I break down the features, clarity, reticle, and my overall impressions. What's the best scope for a.22?
(it's a basic single shot bolt action 22 rifle from the 1940s.) i noticed there are two threaded holes roughly 2 1/3 apart on the rear of the receiver. As well as a 24” rifles slug barrel with cantilever scope mount. That's like how the flashlight company, who i forgot who they are now , took one of their flashlight around to all the shows and had people drive. The holes themselves are just over 1/8 Also for very large target scopes you may want to fit a dovetail to pic rail converter to give you more options for scopes with ability to move the scope more forward and also add elevation options on the pic rail.

Back when us optics made their own scopes, someone did a torture test by taking the scope and hitting another company's scope and go back and forth to see which one broke first. That is something scope companies have trouble with. The scope rings are generic.
