Swinging parameters, high nutrients, poor lighting, lack of flow: Many aquarists growing sps corals and using ultra low nutrient systems (ulns) have found that the corals suffer from “burnt tips†if the alkalinity is too high or changes. I appreciate the form provided by large branching colonies, which fill the tank. The tank is dominated by sps corals (acropora, montipora, anacropora, stylophora, poccilopora).
Shallow reef, how much space for sps? Flow seems super strong with the sicce power head. I have 4 softies and a hammer to start. Originally i plan to keep it as fowlr so didn't think too much about the light and get the ai prime. My tank is currently 4 months old and i am considering to add some corals soon.
